WILLS, TRUSTS AND ESTATES
The firm has clients with a wide range of estate planning needs. I strive to work closely with my client’s insurance agents, accountants, financial planners and other financial advisors as needed to help achieve the optimum estate plan. A majority of my clients require only a basic estate plan which usually includes a customized will, health care proxy and durable power of attorney. For those clients who might otherwise be subject to estate taxes, a more complex plan may be desirable utilizing marital and/or credit shelter trust provisions, insurance trusts and other estate tax minimization techniques. The firm also has significant experience advising executors, administrators and others in connection with probate and estate administration proceedings, fiduciary accountings, other Surrogate Court matters and Elder Law.
The firm generally acts as general counsel to closely held businesses that do not have a lawyer on staff. As such, the firm deals with all aspects of the client’s business including choosing the proper business entity, contractual issues, employment matters, joint venture agreements, purchases and sales of businesses, franchising, shareholder and partnership agreements, operating agreements, financing and raising capital.
REAL ESTATE LAW
The firm has significant experience in the purchase and sale of real property, both commercial and residential, including 1031 exchanges, financing, conveyancing, reverse mortgages, commercial leasing and asset protection
